Timeneye Tips: 4 Ways To Track Your Time

Subscribe

Welcome back to “How to Timeneye”, the guide series that teaches you all the best tips and tricks, and the most effective ways to use Timeneye.

Today’s post is Timeneye 101: how do you track time?

Turns out, there are many ways you can track time effortlessly with Timeneye: you only have to choose the one that works better with your workflow.

So below are four ways in which you can track time in Timeneye.

Which one do you use more often?

#1 The Register Time button

You probably already know this one:

The big, blue, shiny button on top in the Web app in our signature Register time button.

From here you can open and Register time dialog to track your time. You can also do other stuff in the dialog, such as creating new projects and phases.

You can track time by either entering the time manually and then saving the time as an entry, or starting a timer and letting it run while you work.

#2 The Timeneye Browser Widget

If you, like me, work constantly on the web with many open tabs, it may not be convenient for you to log in to the web app every time.

So you need a quick and easy way to track time wherever you are on the web.

The answer is the Timeneye Browser Widget.

This is the browser extension that we have developed works for Chrome and Firefox.

Once you’ve installed the widget, you’ll see a small Timeneye button appear on your browser:

Click on the icon and you’ll see the register time dialog you’re already familiar with.

And now you track time as always: with a timer or a time entry. And you can also create projects and phases while you’re at it.

One cool little detail is that when you have active timers, you’ll see a green counter next to the icon. When the timers are pending, the counter is gray instead of green.

#3 With the Timeneye Mobile apps

For our users always on the go, we have built the Timeneye mobile apps.

You won’t have to find a laptop and log in to the web app thanks to our mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Simply click on the “+” icon and track your time.

The mobile apps also feature an offline mode, that lets you track time when you don’t have an internet connection and then syncs the time when you’re back online.

#4 The Integrations

Do you want to add time tracking to the tools you use in your everyday work?

Then, use one of our integrations!

With our integrations, you can track time without having to switch multiple apps.

We offer two types of integrations to track time: native integrations, and Widget integrations.

Native integrations like Asana and Basecamp, which lets you track time using comments…

A comment in Asana

….Or by completing tasks and to-dos. The system then retrieves all the data automatically into the web app.

The other type is the Widget integration. We have tons of Widget integrations, and the main difference is you don’t sync projects or write comments, but you can track time.

The Timeneye Browser Widget simply adds a little Timeneye button inside the service you use. Click on the button to track time.

This is an example of the button inside a Trello card. Click here to see the full list of services supported

So there you have it! These are four ways to track time with Timeneye.

Make sure to try all four and let us know which one is the best for you. Happy tracking!
